From lead in toys to BPA in food cans to flame retardants in furniture, families should no longer be exposed to harmful chemicals, without our knowledge or consent. The Safe Chemicals Act 2013 would protect families across the country from these toxic exposures. Please take action to urge your Senator to support our health by co-sponsoring the Safe Chemicals Act 2013 today!

Support the Fracking Moratorium![/caption]
Last week, New York Assembly Democrats approved a two-year fracking moratorium. They believe, like us, that the health effects of hydrofracking should be studied before New York Governor Andrew Cuomo can approve moving forward with fracking in the state.
Now, it's your chance to support this groundbreaking legislation. Parents and families everywhere must voice their support to protect their health and the health of future generations.
Great news: CEH’s report on toxic flame retardants in nap mats has spurred Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ) and 22 other Senators to call for an EPA study into flame retardant chemical dangers.
Right now, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), on behalf of strawberry agribusiness corporations, are asking Secretary of State Clinton and EPA Administrator Jackson to get more methyl bromide for California. Why? Because instead of coming up with safe, non-toxic alternatives to methyl bromide, industry's favored alternative was another toxic pesticide called methyl iodide - a chemical known to cause genetic damage, miscarriages and cancer.
Secretary Clinton will be leaving office later on this month. Tell her to leave us with a healthy legacy, one without more methyl bromide. Let's make 2013 the year of the healthy strawberry.

It seems insane to have to even have to tell the EPA to stop allowing a pesticide to be used that is cancer causing.
I would urge everyone to get connected to what is on their plate as quickly as they can, and see that it is not worth getting caught in food politics or a scientific debate, but simple to use common sense, and then vote with your fork. Remember, you are what you eat – in fact, we all are what we all eat.
