Generic Levitra (vardenafil) is a PDE-5 inhibitor used to treat male impotence.
Mechanism of action
The action of vardenafil-based drugs is based on the principles of the blocking of the 5 type phosphodiesterase enzyme. An erection is triggered by sexual arousal, which at the biochemical level leads to the conversion of guanosine monophosphate into cyclic guanosine monophosphate. The latter is able to exert a physiological effect on the expansion of blood vessels in the penis and the unhindered flow of arterial blood to it and blocking its reverse outflow. Phosphodiesterase-5 leads to the opposite effect since it undergoes hydrolysis of cyclic guanosine monophosphate, which makes the onset of an erection impossible. Vardenafil is able to temporarily and selectively bind phosphodiesterase and block its action, thereby reproducing the natural mechanism of erection.
Mode of application
Levitra tablets are taken 30-50 minutes before the planned sexual intercourse.
It is recommended to take 10-20 mg per day. Depending on the age and individual characteristics of the body, the dosage can be reduced. But you can not exceed the recommended dose and use Levitra more often than once a day. The tablet is washed down with water.
